Fr. Rene Perez was born on May 21, 1970, in Slaton, Texas. He is number 11 of 12 siblings. He graduated from Lubbock-Cooper High School, Wayland Baptist University (Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education), Oblate School of Theology (Master of Divinity), and Creighton University (Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality). He was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Lubbock on May 31, 2003.
Fr. Rene has served in many parishes and chancery offices in the Diocese of Lubbock. His interests include reading, traveling and watching Texas Tech sports and Dallas Cowboys football.
